CHAINSTITCH EMBROIDERY
This machine creates chainstitches: a series of stitches made up of loops. It’s hand-operated, non-digitised. The machine is controlled by a handcrank located under the table, and the turning motion of the right hand determines the outcome of the embroidery.
Every stitch is guided entirely by hand, giving each piece an authentic, hand-drawn feel.
Since each item is made this way, no two are ever exactly alike, every napkin is truly one of a kind.
This video shows how the process works.
